Fall Events

Written by Amy Lomeli

Gear up for fall with our fall events! This Saturday (October 15 at 10:00) The Furniture Market will be presenting a hands on pumpkin decorating activity for adults. These gals know their decor! They'll show you how to 'Pretty Up Your Pumpkin' with pizazz. There's a $20 materials fee, pumpkins will be included.

Also mark your calendars for our second annual Perennial and Seed Swap Meet next weekend, October 22 at 11:00. If you have too much of a good thing, bring your extras to our swap meet. We'll have a short talk on various methods of propagation and swap plants, seeds, bulbs, etc. The talk is free, as well as the swap for those with material to share.

RESCHEDULED! The Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center has rescheduled their event to October 29 at 10:00. This family friendly hour-long presentation has always been a big hit. Focusing on rescuing and rehabilitating local wildlife, the center will explain what exactly they do and how you can help preserve natural environments as well as provide habitats within your own backyard.

A relatively new event for our nursery was last years hit, Japanese Maples: Pruning and Care. Save the date: Saturday, November 12 @ 11:00 for this fantastic seminar. Bring your questions! These majestic trees can be pruned into many different forms for a dramatic effect. Our expert, Jungle Jim, will teach you some of the useful techniques to use when pruning them.
